"Winscombe's Good Neighbour Scheme"

Nov 2020

Since the outbreak of COVID 19 in March, only a handful of gallant drivers have been able to take residents to medical appointments, huge thanks to them.

We regret that pending a review of health, safety and insurance issues related to COVID, Winscombe Contact Scheme is not, at present, able to offer transport to medical appointments. Rest assured that as soon as we are advised that can we can resume our usual operations we will do so and advise residents accordingly.

If you are classed as clinically extremely vulnerable and received an email or letter from the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care (Matt Hancock) and need help to travel to medical appointments, you can contact your health care professional (GP). They can arrange transport support with NHS Volunteer Responders.

Accounts and Donations

Our recently audited set of accounts show that we have a bank balance of £3330.

The committee have agreed that we should use these funds to good effect. Thus we have donated £500 to Weston Hospice and £500 to Alzheimer's Society. We believe these two charities are appropriate to residents of Winscombe.
